OBJECTIVE

OBJECTIVE OF DENGUE PATROL

~ Dengue patrol program aims to educate and inculcate in themselves the responsibility of children since young to understand the risks of dengue and how to handle it.

~ In 2015, the program also aims to empower school children are susceptible to dengue, taking proactive measures in prevention of dengue as well as influential ambassadors in their communities.
PATROL HISTORY OF DENGUE

2011
~ Pioneer Project.
~ 3 primary schools in dengue hotspots.
~ Only involve 100 students.

2012
~ The project extended to 9 primary schools in   dengue hotspots.
~ Involve 300 students.


2013
~ The award ceremony for the pilot project.

2014
~ The program covers primary schools throughout the country involving more than 160 schools.
~ Involve 4000 students.

Unite to combating dengue in efforts to make Malaysia a dengue-free.

AEDES MOSQUITO LIFE CYCLE




1. A mosquito lays eggs and let egg floats on the water surface. Most eggs usually hatch within 48 hours and turn into larvae.

2. When a larva, it will remain in the water and surfacing only for air. Larvae molt four times before turning into pupae.

3. Chrysalis will become adults in two days. At this stage, the pupal rest and not eat anything until he parted from its sheath and turned into adults.

4. In the early stages of adult mosquitoes will rest on the surface of the water and tried to pull myself together before starting to fly.

DENGUE FEVER

~ Also known as backbone fever.
~ The fever caused by dengue virus carried by mosquitoes.
~ This fever is very dangerous because there are no drugs that can treat it. It can be fatal.
~ Healthy people can also be affected by dengue fever through mosquito bites.
